 Programs

The Child Care offer programs for children from infants to 12years.

Full Day Program (6 weeks - 23months)

Children at this age begin to develop an understanding of the world around them through physical actions and their senses. To develop these skills our infant/toddler program is designed with various age appropriate activities and experiences which will help your child develop at his/her own pace. These areas include language development, sensorimotor, cognitive development, large and small motor skills, psychomotor, emotional and social development. The children are read, sung and spoken to frequently, have well prepared environment with a lot of different objects to see and touch and have many opportunities to develop their fine and gross motor skills.

Full Day Program  (Children 2 - 5years)

Children between ages 2 - 5years old enrolled in our full day program are engaged in developmentally appropriate Montessori activities/lessons. These lessons are categorized into five areas in the classroom namely Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture/Art. HHFCC believes that each child is unique and should therefore be given the opportunity to optimize that uniqueness academically. Consequently, we allow variations and careful considerations in our guided method of teaching. We provide individual and group lessons as needed and we also create opportunities for the children to explore their environment and to problem-solve.

Brief Explanation of the 5 areas of the classroom

Our Practical Life area hones the hand-eye co-ordination and motor skills of the child. The development of these basic skills increases the child’s success in the classroom and beyond. Some of these activities include tying of shoelaces, buttoning, zipping, sweeping, washing of hands, folding of towels, watering of plants, table setting and dry and liquid pouring.

The Sensorial area is designed to stimulate and refine their senses. It also promotes shapes, sizes, dimensions and color recognition. Activities include the pink tower, color palettes, different objects and sizes.

At the Cultural area, children learn about the earth, land, water, air, the continents and the world around them. This enables them to know that they are a small part of a bigger world.

The Language and Math areas are one of the popular areas of the classrooms. In language, they learn the alphabets phonetically. This approach enables them to sound out words without having to memorize them. In Math, we work on number recognition and association. Once a child understands the basic numbers, we introduce the concepts of multiplication, addition and subtraction.
